Heterogeneous architectural style

A heterogeneous architectural style is a system architecture that is composed from two or more distinct architectural styles or patterns, rather than applying a single style uniformly throughout. It’s a synonym for the hybrid architecture style, and the two terms are used interchangeably.

Most non-trivial real-world systems are heterogeneous. A single style rarely suits every part of a system equally well, so different subsystems or layers are shaped by whichever style best fits their own concerns. Thus, the overall architecture is a composite of those individual choices.
