Computer science
Computer science is the study of computation: what can be computed, how efficiently, and how to build systems that compute. It spans both theory — algorithms, complexity, and formal methods — and practice, from programming paradigms and data structures to distributed systems and artificial intelligence. The boundary with software engineering is not sharp. Computer science asks what is possible and how; software engineering asks how to reliably deliver it. This page collects the garden’s entries on core computer science topics.
